FAQ

Q: Which databases does Boxroom work with?
A: I use MySQL, so that should definitely work. People have let me know they successfully run Boxroom with PostgreSQL, SQLite and SQL Server. Please let me know if anything else does or doesn't work for you.

Q: Will you implement this-and-this feature?
A: Maybe... submit your feature request here or just send me an e-mail and I'll get back to you.

Q: Do you need any help on your project?
A: Sure, any help is welcome! If you want to implement a new feature, please contact me first to make sure I'm not working on the same thing. If you don't know any features to implement: I'm looking for someone who can write the tests for Boxroom. Since I didn't know about Test Driven Development, the tests have been ignored from day 1. It'd be nice to have those!

Q: What other software does Boxroom depend on?
A: For Boxroom to run you need the latest versions of Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Ferret and acts_as_ferret. Mongrel is the recommended webserver for running Boxroom. If you want to see the progress of uploads in Boxroom, you need Mongrel upload progress. A database is needed too. (see first question)

Q: What is that 'PayPal Donate'-button all about?
By donating a few Euros you support the development of Boxroom. You will also be honorably mentioned on the credits page.
